Anti-Aging With Style
As you age it’s a great idea to dress fabulously well! It’s not about dressing up or down or shopping in designer boutiques or thrift stores. It’s about being authentic and dressing for your personality type, for who you’re being and what you want your ‘look’ to say.
Ladies, this is not about quantity but about quality and fit. It’s better to have 10 to 15 great pieces in your wardrobe that fit you to a “T” than having a closet full of fashionable trendy pieces that don’t fit your personality, your body type or shape, or where you want to go in life.
The trick is to know your body type, shape and assets, and which clothing styles will enhance and show off your best features. Know that what worked for you in your 20’s probably will not work all that well for you in your 40’s and beyond. Lastly, know that trends are trends and not fashion, and certainly not for the fabulous 40’s 50’s 60’s and beyond, so keep trendy pieces to a minimum.
Ladies, confidence cannot be bought. Coco Chanel said, “At forty, women used to exchange youth for elegance, poise and mysterious allure, an evolution that left them undamaged. Now they measure themselves against the very young with defenses that can only be described as ridiculous…”
When you know who you are and what you can create and contribute to your life and those you love your confidence will soar. It doesn’t matter if you’re a size 2 or 22, it doesn’t matter if you’re having a week from hell at work or with your children, or if you’re having a bad hair day, experiencing hormonal issues, or if you’re losing your best friend, always do your very best to speak and act confidently.
Believe and remember that you are smart, gorgeous, fun and fascinating and this bad experience or time in your life will end. A good way to maintain your personal power and hold your position is to create your very own personal power mantra. This self-confidence and self-esteem booster will never go out of style because it’s always within you and can be drawn upon whenever you need it.
Let’s stop looking back and longing for that girl’s face and body we used to have. Instead, let’s embrace the wiser badass woman we are now, and who we’re becoming. It’s a wonderful time to redefine what feminine and fierce means to each of us.
Know that it’s a beautiful thing to allow a bit of history and experience to shine through our face as a wiser more fabulous woman. We are constantly changing and blooming into a more beautiful flower and at each stage we can be as beautiful and as wonderful as ever… perhaps even more so. The fact is, we are indeed, aging and it is wonderful to embrace and share our real beauty with younger women and girls. Cosmetic surgery does have its place but let’s reconsider our obsession with endless nips and tucks, lip plumpers, Botox and fillers and start a new conversation with and around our quest to regain our real authentic self—the innate aspect of us that so very beautiful and easy on the eye. And this beauty will never pass away.
Here’s to your alluring style!
